Trinity Stamps Oh Happy Day Card

Writer's picture: Kelsey Thomas Kelsey Thomas

Hello!

Today I am sharing this super cute card that I made using the Trinity Stamps Oh Happy Day stamp set.

I started by cutting a piece of watercolor paper down to 4" x 5.25" and stamping the main image from the Oh Happy Day stamp set using Altenew Obsidian Black Pigment Ink using my MISTI. After letting the ink dry, I then used my Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Pencils (sets 1, 2, and 3) to paint the image. For the image portion, I used a number 2 round paintbrush.

Here are the specific colors that I used:

  • Mushrooms: Crackling Campfire and Barn Door

  • Spots and stems of mushrooms: Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain

  • Grass clumps: Rustic Wilderness and Faded Jeans

  • Rocks: Hickory Smoke and Black Soot

  • Flower petals: Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves

  • Flower centers: Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick

  • Grass and stems/leaves of flowers: Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint

  • Stump: Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain

For the sky, I used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks. I decided to use the inks instead of the watercolor pencils because it was a much larger area to fill. I switched to a larger paint brush as well. To use them as paint, I smooshed the ink pad onto my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat and just dipped my brush in water and picked up the ink with it.

After the image dried, I stamped the "Oh happy day" sentiment using the same black ink and adhered the panel to a black A2 card base.

That's it! I hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to create.

Happy crafting!

Kelsey
