Spellbinders - BetterPress Watercolor Card

Writer's picture: Kelsey Thomas Kelsey Thomas

Hello!

Today I am sharing this card that I made using the BetterPress plate that came with my BetterPress Letterpress system from Spellbinders.

I started with a piece of Hero Arts watercolor paper and used my Tim Holtz Guillotine Trimmer to cut it down to 4" x 5.25" in size. I then used the plate that came with my BetterPress Letterpress system and the black BetterPress ink. I ran the system through my Sizzix Big Shot Machine.

I then decided to watercolor the image. I used some watercolors from Grabie. The sets I used were the Holiday and Floral watercolor sets. For the greens, I used Jungle Green and Emerald Green. For the pinks, I used Hot Pink and Fuchsia. I used Sunflower for the yellow. I used a number 2 round brush to paint. Any watercolor paints that you have will work. Use the colors that you like. :)

After the panel was dry, I used Harvest Moon Mica Stain to add gold splatters.

I glued the whole panel down to a white A2 card base using Art Glitter Glue.

That's it! I hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to create. What techniques have you tried with your BetterPress plates? I would love to know! Leave a comment below.

Happy crafting!

Kelsey
