I am back with a fun new project.
I had a lot of fun creating these mixed media tags for my latest design team project for Rach and Bella Crafts. You can find their digital junk journal kits on Ko-fi and on their website.

I started out by using a piece of Bee Inspired watercolor paper as my base. I then smooshed Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Mowed Lawn Distress inks on my glass media mat. I spritzed them with plain water using a mini mister and then dipped my paper into the ink to pick up as much as I could.
I then sprayed the paper with Dylusions sprays in Fresh Lime, Cut Grass, and London Blue. I also added Lindy's Starburst Spray in Sassy Sapphire and Distress Mica Stain in Shiny Bauble. I added a bit of Color Burst powder in the Cabbage color. I added more water and tilted my paper to spread the color. I then used my Wow! Heat Tool to dry the page.
For the next step, I used Liquitex Matte Medium and a flat brush to stick book and music page pieces to the background. I then ripped up some pieces from The Grunge Essentials kit from Rach and Bella Crafts to add more interest. I again used the heat tool to dry the page.
Next, I used Faded Jeans and Walnut Stain Distress Watercolor Pencils and a water brush to add some shading.
Once the background was dry, I used my Tim Holtz Guillotine Trimmer to cut the page down into 8 pieces. I trimmed the corners to make them into tag shapes.
Next, I dug through my stash of Rach and Bella Crafts ephemera and my Grabie supplies to find pieces that I wanted to use. I ended up using elements from The Grunge Essentials, Mixed Media Medley, and A Garden Story.
I then began assembling my tags. I inked around elements using a foam blending tool and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to make them stand out more and attached them to the tag with Art Glitter Glue. I also used the Tim Holtz Field Notes stamp set on some of the tags.
After I had all of the tags assembled, I cut pieces of seam binding from My Scrap Cabin Shop in nude and soapstone and used black thread to sew around the tags with my sewing machine.
Here is a close up of each tag.
You can watch the whole process over on YouTube here.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed these mixed media tags and will head over to YouTube to check out the video. Which one is your favorite? Leave me a comment to let me know.
I also encourage you to check out the Rach and Bella Crafts YouTube channel and Facebook group for more inspiration using their amazing kits.
Happy crafting!
