Polka Dot Orchard - You're a Reel Catch - Making "Random" Cards

Hello!

Today I am sharing this super fun card I made for Polka Dot Orchard. I used the You're a Reel Catch and Floral Flourish Background 4 digital stamp sets.

I wanted to find a fun way to make "random" cards, so I made a list of card types, techniques, materials, etc. and wrote them all on little pieces of paper and folded them up. I then mixed them up and drew three. I got mixed media, glitter, and lots of layers as my prompts for this card

To start my card, I dug through my stash of backgrounds and found one that I made using some acrylic paint and my gel plate. One of the paints had glitter in it, so that satisfied my glitter requirement. I cut the panel down and matted it on black cardstock.

I then dug through my scraps of papers and washi tapes and found a few fun designs to layer together on my card. I also took the Floral Flourish Background 4 image and tore it down to add as a fun layer. I inked the edges of all of the paper pieces with Black Soot Distress Ink to give them a more fun look and stamped the book page with the Ocean Borders stamp set (retired) from Honey Bee Stamps.

Next, I took the fish image from the You're a Reel Catch set and fussy cut it out. I then colored it using my King Art Gel Sticks. I added some glitter details with a gel pen. I still had some gel stick on my finger from blending my fish, so I used that to color the edges of my sentiment after I fussy cut around it.

I finished off the card by attaching the panel to a purple 5x7 card base and adding some fun pearls from my stash.

That's it! I hope you enjoyed this card and are inspired to create your own "random" cards.

Happy crafting!

Kelsey
