Polka Dot Orchard Paw-some Halloween

Hello!

I am back again with a fun Halloween card featuring new digital products from Polka Dot Orchard.

ree

I printed the dog and sentiment from the new Polka Dot Orchard Paw-some Halloween digital stamp set onto white cardstock using my Epson EcoTank printer.

I then colored the image using my Prismacolor colored pencils. Specific colors are below:

  • Pumpkin: Burnt Ochre, Pumpkin Orange, Cadmium Orange Hue, and Sunburst Yellow

  • Collar: Sunburst Yellow and Spring Green

  • Dog: Dark Umber, Dark Brown, Light Umber, and 70% French Grey

I fussy cut around the dog and sentiment using my scissors. I then used a black Marvy Leplume marker to ink around the dog to remove the white edge. I inked over the sentiment using Altenew Pale Mauve ink (sugarplums ink bundle) and a blending brush.

To create my background, I used the Kat Scrappiness A2 Postcard die and my Sizzix Big Shot and magic mat to cut a postcard from light purple cardstock. I then used a blending brush and Altenew Pale Mauve, Amethyst, and Grape Agate inks to add some purple color, leaving it lighter in the center. I used a Kat Scrappiness mini blending brush and Black Soot Distress Ink to darken the edges. Next, I used the retired My Favorite Things Grassy Edges stencil and the Black Soot to add some grass along the bottom. I then added some bats using the Kat Scrappiness Hats and Bats stencil.

I arranged the dog and sentiment on the postcard and glued them flat using Art Glitter Glue. I glued the whole thing to a purple A2 card base.

To finish off the card, I scattered some Kat Scrappiness Gold Pearls around the card.

That's it! I hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to create.

Happy crafting!
