Hello!
Today I am sharing this gothic feeling Valentine card that I made using products from Polka Dot Orchard.

To create the background for this card, I cut a piece of black cardstock down to 4" x 5.25" in size. I used the Fluttering Hearts stencil from Honey Bee Stamps and some Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo. I spread a thin layer of the gel with my palette knife. I then immediately removed and washed the stencil, palette knife, and my work surface before the gel had time to dry. I set the panel aside to dry to a tacky finish.
While the background was drying, I started working on the other elements of the card. The rose image is from the Joy of God's Love digital stamp set. I colored it using Prismacolor colored pencils. For the petals, I used 90% cool grey, dioxazine purple hue, and violet. For the leaves and stems, I used 90% cool grey, dark green, and grass green. I fussy cut around the rose.
The sentiment is from the Gardeners of Our Souls set and says "Love is the flower you've got to let grow."
Once the transfer gel was tacky, I took a scrap of matte gold foil and placed it over the background, pretty side up, and used my finger to burnish it. I kept lifting it up and placing it down again until I was satisfied with the coverage. This is a great way to use up your foil scraps. I have found that this method works with both the transfer foils and the glimmer foils!
When I was done with the background, I used Art Glitter Glue and adhered it to an A2 white card base. I then attached the flower and sentiment.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to create and use up your foil scraps!
Happy crafting!
