Hello!
I am back with another project today using products from Polka Dot Orchard.

I thought this cat from the new Polka Dot Orchard Fur-ever Spooky digital stamp set was perfect for using in a page in my art planner.
I printed the cat onto white cardstock using my Epson EcoTank printer.
I then used Prismacolor colored pencils to color it. Specific colors are below:
Nose: Black, 90% Warm Grey, and 70% Warm Grey
Fur: 50% Warm Grey, 30% Warm Grey, and 10% Warm Grey
Eyes: Spring Green
Costume: Black, 90% Warm Grey, and 70% Warm Grey
Costume bones: 20% Warm Grey, 10% Warm Grey, and White
I then fussy cut around the image with my scissors and used a black Marvy leplume marker to color around the edges to remove the white. I set the cat aside to work on my background.
For my art planner, I use a Grumbacher mixed media pad. To make the background, I started by putting down a wash of purple paint using a one inch wash paint brush and Prang watercolor paints. I also dropped in some black paint. I added some extra interest using Lindy's Magicals in Steel Shimmer.
After the background dried, I took some pieces of tissue paper from my stash and glued them down using matte medium and a foam brush.
Once that layer was dry, I used the Tim Holtz Etcetera stamp set and Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink to add some interest to the background.
I also used a retired Whimsy Stamps stencil, Beaded Curtain, a Kat Scrappiness mini blending brush, and Black Soot Distress Ink to add some stenciling.
To add the finishing touch to the background, I mixed some Grabie Ivory Black acrylic paint (any black acrylic paint works) with some water and spattered it on the background using a number 4 fan brush.
After the background was completely dry, I glued the cat to the center of the page using Art Glitter Glue.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed this project and are inspired to create.
Happy crafting!
Kelsey
