Hello friends,
Today I am sharing this cute Christmas card that I made for the My Favorite Things Ready, Set Christmas! card challenge.
I decided the use the adorable hedgehogs from the My Favorite Things Happy Hedgehogs set (retired) to create a Christmas card. I thought they were perfect with their little scarves. I stamped them in Altenew Obsidian Black ink on white cardstock along with the branch image and a sentiment from the Pinkfresh Studio Great Joy stamp set (retired). I set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.
I created the background by cutting a snow panel from white cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders dies. I used a blending brush and inked the bottom of the snow hill using Altenew Pale Mauve Crisp Dye Ink.
I then took a white A2 card base and used a blending tool and foam to blend on the following Altenew Crisp Dye Inks (lightest to darkest): Pale Mauve, Amethyst, Grape Agate, and Plum. I splattered the background with a little water to add some interest.
After my black ink dried, I colored the hedgehogs and sign using my Prismacolor colored pencils. I then fussy cut them out.
I adhered the snow panel to the bottom of the card and glued the hedgehogs on top. Next, I glued the sentiment strip flat to the card.
I finished the card by adding some Studio Katia White Diamond (April) Crystals (retired) to look like falling snow.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed this card and are inspired to head on over to the My Favorite Things blog to join in on the challenge too!
Happy crafting!
Kelsey
