Christmas in July #6 - Lawn Fawn Den Sweet Den

Hello!

I am back with day 6 of my personal #christmasinjuly2025 cardmaking challenge. Today I used products from Lawn Fawn and Kat Scrappiness to make this fun card.

I started by using the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fancy Scalloped Heart dies and my Sizzix Big Shot and magic mat to die cut a fancy heart from watercolor paper. I used watercolor paper from the Dollar Tree for this project, but any watercolor paper would work.

Next, I used my MISTI to stamp the den scene using the Lawn Fawn Den Sweet Den stamp set. I used repositionable adhesive to hold the heart in place while I did my stamping. To mask off my bears as I stamped, I used Scotch low tack artist tape (any masking paper or post it tape would work as well). I stamped all of my images using Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. After stamping, I used a ruler and a black Kingart Inkline pen to add a line across the panel as a "floor" for the den.

After letting the ink dry, I then used a number 2 round brush and my Grabie watercolor set to paint the heart panel. Specific colors:

  • Dim Gray

  • Black

  • Syrup

  • Pine

While the paint was drying, I trimmed a scrap of white cardstock to 1/2" and stamped "Have a beary cozy Christmas" onto it using an acrylic block. I cut the sentiment apart to have it fit my card design better.

Once everything was dry, I arranged the heart and sentiment onto a white A2 card base and glued everything down with Art Glitter Glue.

That's it! I hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to create.

Happy crafting!
