August Birthday Bash #8 - Spellbinders Lots of Circles + Bonus Card!

Hello!

I am back for day 8 of my August #birthdaycardbash challenge. I used new products from Spellbinders for my card today.

I started by using the new Spellbinders Bow and Bell Scallop Frame die set to cut a rectangle from white cardstock using my Sizzix Big Shot and magic mat. I used some repositionable tape on the back of the panel to hold it in place on my glass media mat as I worked on the next part.

I used the new Spellbinders Lots of Circles stencil set to add some fun colorful circles to my panel. I started with the larger stencil and used a blending brush and Shabby Shutters Distress Ink to add color. I held the stencil in place with 1" mint tape. I traced around the circles with a black 05 Kingart Inkline pen before removing the stencil. I then used the smaller circle stencil and added Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Before removing the small stencil, I used a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen to trace around each circle to add some sparkle. To accent the larger circles, I used a white Posca pen to add some shiny spots.

For the sentiment on this card, I used the Spellbinders Stylized Happy Birthday die set. I took the Shabby Shutters and Peacock Feathers ink pads directly to white cardstock to make matching colors for die cutting the words and then die cut the shadow layer from white cardstock.

I arranged the background panel and sentiment on an A2 card base made from Spellbinders Teal Topaz cardstock and glued everything in place with Art Glitter Glue.

That's it for that card.

I also have a bonus card for you today!

I started by cutting a stitched rectangle panel from white cardstock using the Spellbinders Bow and Bell Scallop Frame die set. I then using my MISTI and Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink to stamp the cute mice from the Spellbinders House Mouse Unwrapping Memories stamp set. I also stamped the "Happy Holidays" sentiment on a cardstock strip with an acrylic block.

After the ink dried, I colored the scene using Crayola colored pencils. Specific colors are below:

  • Tan

  • Warm Gray

  • Brown

  • Silver

  • Pine Green

  • Blue

  • Lilac

  • Yellow

  • Red

I die cut the scalloped panel from some polka dot glitter paper from my stash. I also created a mat for the sentiment using the same paper.

I glued everything to a white A2 card base.

That's it for both cards! I hope you enjoyed them and are inspired to create.

I also want to invite you to join me in my cardmaking challenge over on my Facebook page. See the pinned post at the top of the page for details.
