Spellbinders Free Hugs Oscar

Hello!
Today I am sharing this fun card that I made with products from the new Spellbinders release.

To create this card, I started by die cutting the Spellbinders Free Hugs Oscar set from colored cardstock using my Sizzix Big Shot machine and magic mat. I then used a blending brush and Fossilized Amber Distress Ink to add some shading to the yellow pieces for his body. I used Art Glitter Glue to attach all of the pieces and set him aside to dry as I worked on the rest of the card.
To create the background, I took a piece of green cardstock and used the Spellbinders Memo Splatter BetterPress plate and my die cutting machine/embossing mat to add some texture to the cardstock. I then used a foam blending tool and Peeled Paint Distress Ink to add some interest. I trimmed the piece into a triangle using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Trimmer and glued it to a 4.25" x 5.5" white piece of cardstock. I then attached that to a black A2 card base. I then used a black KingArt Inkline pen to add a line separating the green panel from the white.
To finish of the card, I die cut "free hugs" from the Free Hugs Oscar set using black cardstock and glued it flat to the white panel. I then accented the card using black gems (retired from Studio Katia). I glued Oscar to the bottom left on the green panel.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to create. I also hope that you will check out the new release over on the Spellbinders website.
Happy crafting!
Kelsey
