Hello!
I am back again with part two of the Spellbinders Cuckoo Cottage Collection release. I have two more cards to share with you.
Here is the first one:

I started by die cutting the penguins and their hats from the new Spellbinders Chiming Christmas die set using my Sizzix Big Shot and magic mat. I colored the beaks and hats using Marvy LePlume II markers in the colors red, blue, green, and orange. I glued the pieces together using Art Glitter Glue.
I then die cut three rectangles using the Spellbinders Bow and Bell Scallop Frame die set. I cut two patterned paper rectangles from red and green Christmas paper from my stash. I cut a white rectangle for my penguins and sentiments so that they would stand out.
I stamped the sentiment using an acrylic block and Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. The sentiment is from the Mama Elephant Cool Penguins stamp set and reads "It's penguining to look a lot Christmas."
I created a snow patch for my penguins to stand on using a palette knife and Kat Scrappiness Rainbow Glitter Mousse.
After the glitter mousse was dry, I assembled all of the layers onto an A2 card base made from Spellbinders Cosmic Sky cardstock and glued them down flat.
That's it for the first card.
Here is card number two:

I die cut the pieces for the house using the new Spellbinders Cuckoo Cottage die set. I cut a light brown solid house and added a bit of shading around the edges using a blending brush and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The frames were cut out from dark brown cardstock. I then cut out the roof, base, and window frame from white and used a blending brush and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to add some color. I cut out the window from white cardstock and used Black Soot Distress Ink to add color.
I also cut out a solid house from acetate to use to create a shaker window. I glued the frames onto the acetate panel and then added some 1/8" foam tape around it. I filled the window with a sequin mix from my stash, removed the release paper, and then added the solid house background to it.
I then glued on the roof, base, and window to the shaker portion. At this point, I decided I wanted it to be a bird house, so I die cut the birds with the Spellbinders Little Birdies die set from white cardstock and added ink with Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks using Kat Scrappiness mini blending brushes. I cut out hearts from the Spellbinder's Sharon's Scissors set and colored them with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I glued the birds and hearts to the shaker panel.
Next, I created a scalloped oval for my house to sit on. I used the Spellbinders Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals dies to cut it out from Bristol cardstock and then used a blending brush and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to add color. I then stamped "congratulations" using an acrylic block and Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. The sentiment is from the Colorado Craft Company New Baby stamp set.
I then created a background for my card by embossing a cream piece of cardstock using the Spellbinders Dimpled embossing folder.
I glued all of my elements to a white A2 card base using Art Glitter Glue.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed the cards and are inspired to create.
Happy crafting!
Kelsey
