Hello!
I am back for my second blog post of the day, and I am sharing this adorable trio of cards that I made using Kat Scrappiness products.
I created the backgrounds for all three cards by cutting some white glossy cardstock down to 4" x 5.25" using my paper trimmer. I then smooshed Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Salty Ocean Distress Inks onto my glass media mat and misted them with water using a mini mister. I dipped the papers into the ink, adding more ink to the glass media mat as needed, until I was satisfied with the coverage. I then spritzed the pieces with Merry Mint and Shiny Bauble Distress Mica Stains. I set the panels aside to dry overnight.
The next day, I stamped the adorable critter images from the Kat Scrappiness Friends Under the Sea stamp set onto white cardstock using Altenew Obsidian Black Pigment Ink and set them aside to dry.
While the stamped images were drying, I took some scraps of white cardstock and used a foam blending tool to create my own colored cardstocks using the same three colors of Distress Ink that I used on the backgrounds. I then used the Life Under the Sea craft dies from Kat Scrappiness and my Sizzix Big Shot Machine to die cut the pieces. I added details using my Prismacolor pencils for some added interest. I used Cerulean Blue, Cobalt Turquoise, and Parrot Green. I also stamped the sentiments on the handmade colored cardstock and trimmed them down.
Once the stamped images were dry, I colored them using my Prismacolor Pencils.
Whale Colors:
Water spout: Cobalt Turquoise, Aquamarine, and Light Aqua
Whale body: Indanthrone Blue, Copenhagen Blue, and Cerulean Blue
Turtle Colors:
Turtle body: Cobalt Turquoise, Aquamarine, and Light Aqua
Shell and spots: Dark Umber, Chocolate, and Light Umber
Seal Colors:
Body: Dark Umber, Chocolate, and Light Umber
I fussy cut the critters once I was done coloring them.
I glued the inky panels down on white A2 card bases using Art Glitter Glue. I then arranged my critters, sea plants, and sentiments how I wanted them and glued them down.
I accented each card using Kat Scrappiness Mint Leaves and Carribean Blue Pearl Mixes.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed these cards and are inspired to do some crafting. Which one is your favorite? Leave a comment to let me know.
Happy crafting!
